The madeiran government, more specifically, the Regional Directorate for Culture once again, promotes the Madeira Organ Festival, organizing a set of twelve concerts, headlined by nationally and internationally renowned Master Organ players.
The concerts will be held in local liturgical areas of reference, namely Funchal’s Cathedral (Sé), Colégio Church, S. Pedro´s Church and at the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Porto da Cruz). All these concerts will be held between October the 20th to 29th.
This festival aims at presenting this project, developed in the framework of recovering an almost unknown heritage, as well as enriching and promoting the decentralization of the organ’s cultural offer within the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The 2016 edition programme integrated additional activities such as workshops for children and an exhibition depicting musical instruments.
