Larano: Your journey begins in Larano, an area known for its impressive cliff faces and diverse flora. As you set off, the path takes you along the edge of dramatic cliffs, providing panoramic views of the vast Atlantic Ocean. The trail showcases Madeira’s geological grandeur and offers a sense of tranquillity, punctuated only by the sounds of waves crashing against the cliff base.
Breathtaking Cliffs: One of the defining features of this trail is the coastal path that hugs the coastline, unveiling unobstructed views over the Atlantic and the eastern part of Madeira Island. On clear days, you can even spot the island of Porto Santo on the horizon, adding another layer to the breathtaking vistas.
Panoramic Vistas: As you near Boca do Risco, the trail offers a unique viewpoint where the mountains meet the sea, providing one of the most impressive landscapes of Madeira. The Boca do Risco viewpoint, the final landmark of your journey, offers a magnificent perspective of the coast and the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.
The walk is approximately 12 kilometers long and of moderate difficulty. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to complete, offering a perfect half-day outdoor adventure. While the trail is well maintained, it does traverse some high cliffs, so it’s essential to proceed with caution and keep a safe distance from the edge.

If you need to cancel your reservation, a refund will only be provided if the cancellation is made by 4:00 PM the day before the scheduled tour/walk.
Please ensure you come prepared with suitable walking shoes or boots and a warm coat, especially if temperatures are low in the mountains.
For full-day walks, please bring a picnic and water with you as they will not be provided by Madeira Sunrise Tours.
